Born and raised a West Virginia native, I understand the frustration with our weather situation: one day 65 degrees and sunny, the next, 27 degrees and a blizzard. Weather isn’t perfect by no means, however, when it is, you strike. One of the whole reasons for this ‘out-of-the-blue’ styled shoot was to showcase this convertible bridesmaids dress from cousin Mandi’s wedding back in 2014 in hopes of reselling and making a few bucks. Seriously, that’s it. And what better person to model than your own family member? I’ve ALWAYS wanted to shoot Courtney but never penciled it in. I guess in some cases, spur of the moment ideas work. Sooooo we have model. Check. Bridesmaids dress. Check. Grocery store bouquet that compliments dress. Check. Fur coat I bought for $10 at Forever 21. Check. Winter sessions can be somewhat tricky: it’s either waaaay too cold or waaaay too windy or both. On this particular day, it was a warm 35 degrees and no wind. Literally, perfect. Enjoy some beautiful portraits of Courtney 🙂
Shoot my OWN engagement ring and wedding band on a pretty bouquet? I’ll take it every time.
I mean isn’t she stunning! Horizontal is my new favorite way for a portrait 🙂
And why not in black & white? I just LOVE a crisp B&W image.
