I was beyond TICKLED when Rachael contacted me to be a part of their Wilmington, NC wedding last year. Even though I LOVE a good destination wedding, I don’t typically market myself as such. However, when I DO get the opportunity to travel and shoot in places that are new and exciting, I jump right on that train and never look back.
Both originally from The Mountain State, Rachael and Sal met at West Virginia University and decided to create their new journey post graduation in Wilmington, NC. I met Rachael a few years ago through mutual friends and my time waitressing at The Varsity Club in Morgantown. She is ultimately the sweetest person and, not too mention, beautifully stunning, whether in yoga pants delivering wings and beer to a table to Cinderella-esq on her wedding day. The same goes with Sal on the mutual friends scale and if there is one thing that is certain, Sal is completely smitten by Rachael. They are one gorgeous couple and their daughter, Josie, is proof of that 🙂
From details to dancing, their wedding day as a whole was plain awesome. The one aspect I really enjoyed was knowing all of their guests. It was home away from home, it was comfortable and everyone had SUCH a great time. Of course if you’re from West Virginia, your wedding day is NOT complete until you have a giant waving WV flag surrounded by all of your favorite people swaying in a circle singing Country Roads while sprinkling in a little ‘Eat Sh!t Pitt to make it official.
Cheers to The DeCaria’s and Happy 1 year Anniversary! <3
